Full Description

Dovecot probably built in the 17th century to the north-east of the current Durn House (NJ56NE0022). Tall rectangular rubble dovecot now coated with modern harl covering boulder footings. Single heavy rat ledge. The doorway has ashlar margins in centre of south front. There is a smaller shuttered pigeon entrances above. Single round vent in each gable. Crow-stepped, slate roof. There are 500 stone nesting boxes line interior.

17thC, went along with Old Durn House.
