Full Description

On the 1846 map a small complex, forming a mill town, is depicted with eleven small buildings along with a cornmill with a lade leading from the River Isla to the west. Another lade lies in the east leading to a millpond to the north of the farmstead on the east side, which is a U-shaped steading with a possible horsemill to its east. By 1888 fourteen small buildings are depicted along with the cornmill and steading. Today a number of the smaller buildings have gone. The mill is a 1-storey and attic rubble building on an L-plan with a pyramidal roofed kiln built on to one side. A lean-to has been added to cover a saw bench. This now houses a grain dryer.
