Full Description
Parish church and supposed site of pre-Reformation chapel dedicated to St Mary (which was in existence before 1574) and associated graveyard. The General Assembly attempted to stop pilgrimages to chapel in 1608. The parish of Ordiquhill was formed about 1622-8 and a church erected on the site of the chapel. This church in turn was replaced by the present building circa 1805. The bell is dated 1754. The burial aisle of the Gordons of Park is at the east end of the church. Over the entrance are the Gordon and Sibbald arms and date 1665. The older gravestones in the churchyard are mostly mid 18th century. Memorial within graveyard to James Henry, creator of Kerr's Pink potatoes (NJ55NE0014). War memorial within graveyard (NJ55NE0034).
