Full Description
Remains of a distillery depicted on historic maps. The 1st edition shows a group of at least five buildings, annotated as Old Distillery. A mill lade leads to the site from the Laird's Intake to the south on the River Deveron. Only four roofed buildings are shown on the 2nd edition map. Records indicate that the distillery was formed in 1824 by Huntly Distillery Co, and was under the ownership of Mr James Robertson from 1832-1860 when it ceased working. Desk-based assessment and survey was carried out by S Farrell in 2018.
