Huntly Castle Hotel, formerly Huntly Lodge, originally named Sandiestone, mostly dating to the 17th Century.

Huntly Castle Hotel, formerly Huntly Lodge, originally named Sandiestone. The earliest part, dating to 1752, is a 3-storey harled block at the east end with a tall piended roof. The original 17th Century house is contained within the 1752 structure. There is a 2-storey addition to the south, of the same height as the plain parapet (possibly dating to 1757) of squared granite with evidence of subsequent alteration at the top. In circa 1800, an addition was made to the west of the house, and the icehouse was built. A large symmetrical north addition probably dates to circa 1800 and/or 1814-1820. Subsequent 'minor works' by Archibald Simpson were undertaken in 1822. The rear wing of the building was constructed in circa 1832. Some of the sculpted detail from the castle is set into the north wall of the original house.

There is a walled garden with an 18th Century sundial on the south lawn with a square freestone baluster on a fluted base, with a modern dial. A second 18th Century sundial is on the north lawn, comprising a squat square granite baluster with a slate dial.
