Full Description

Remains of a mill which is depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps, annotated as a corn and saw mill. These show a group of at least five buildings. The OS Name Book (1871) notes the date of 1610 on a gable. OS site visit 1961 noted that only ruins of one remains, the walls then of 2.3m maximum height on the west side. The walls were overgrown with weeds and the mill lade partly filled in and disused. There was no trace of a datestone. At that time two of the associated dwellings were un ruins, the third roofed but in dilapidated condition and in use as a barn.

Period Notes
Datestone 1610.
