Full Description

Remains of a chapel and burial ground. In 1906 the chapel was described as being 9m by 5,5m with a graveyard around 120m in circumference. In 1961 OS recorded that all that remained is a hollow and a part of the foundation of the north side and an overgrown course of stone. The north side of the graveyard consisted of a stone and turf bank, 2.3m wide by 0.9m high on the outside, 0.4m high on inside, with numerous stones protruding through the top of the bank. The outline of parts of the east and west sides of the graveyard were distinguished, at the most, as scarps, 0.4m high. The south side had been destroyed by quarrying. Site visit 2012 by Scottish Churches Heritage Research noted a collapsed rubble wall which may be part of the graveyard boundary, but found no trace of the hollow which may show the site of the chapel.
