Full Description
Well which had a reputation as a healing shrine, depicted on the OS 1st edition map. OS site visit recorded that the well was located in a marshy area and partly underwater, and was featureless and may be a spring rather than a well. The well was a rag-well, believe to restore fertility in barren women and cure all manner of diseases in humans and animals. Votive offerings of pieces of clothing, buttons and small coins used to be left here before the twentieth century.
