Full Description

House, now with a vacant shop at the ground floor and a flat above. It is first depicted on the 2nd edition OS map as an L-plan building. A Level 1 Standing Building Survey was carried out in February 2017 by Cameron Archaeology prior to proposed extensions and alterations to this building and the demolition of the adjacent 2 New Road (NJ53NW0130). The building survey showed that this building is two-storey and attic. There is a recess on the second floor level at the south-west corner, which one may have held a datestone. The shop on the ground floor was originally two rooms, converted into one.

Period Notes
Built in the later 19th century.
