Full Description
Farmstead, still in use, depicted on the OS 1st edition map of 1867 as a quadrangular shape with a central court. There is an L-shaped building to the east, presumably the farmhouse, and a pond to the southwest. A mill lade leads from the west into a pond to the west, then another lades leads round the farm to the west to the small pond lying in the southwest corner, then along the south side where a sluice is indicated. By the 1888 edition the L-shaped building to the east is only one block. A building has been erected in the central court of the farmstead. On present maps the farmstead has now been altered into a U-shape with court open to the east. There is no evidence of the mill lade that ran around the west and south side of the farm or the mill pond. A building survey of the steading was carried out in 2012 prior to demolition. At the western end of the lade FC survey recorded a stone-faced revetted channel.
