Full Description

Farmstead, farmhouse and site of a manoor. An interesting large farm group comprising of a large quadrangular single storey steading, partly with loft, with a symmetrical arrangement with open court. The farmhouse is L-plan with a backwing of mid 18th Century date. It is 2-storey with a 4-window back wing, and a 3-window front with roof piended at angle circa 1800. It has a canted porch which is probably circa 1840 in date and a single-storey piend roofed outbuilding. A rubble-built rectangular walled garden lies to the east of the house. To the south of the house is a curious almost circular shaped field. It may have been an orchard or garden. On the OS map of 1867, three lines of trees, coming from the east, south and west, continue on inside the wall, which could indicate that the trees were there before the wall.

Period Notes
From mid-18thC; front with roof piended at angle c.1800. It has a canted porch which is probably c1840 and a single-storey piend roofed outbuilding. Listed 16/04/1971.
