Full Description

Remains of mills. Originally, a water powered bone mill operated here, as depicted on the 1st edition OS map. By the 2nd edition OS map, the mill had become a weaving mill. Weaving machinery was replaced by carding and spinning. The mill was driven by a 16-spoke, low-breast, all-iron bucket wheel with rim drive. It had a 3-bay range of single-storey rubble weaving sheds with brick out-buildings. Sluices run to the west, south and east, leading to/from the River Bogie.
