Full Description
Cottage, depicted on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps, still in use. Stone built. It is a long rectangular building oriented southwest-northeast, with garden to the front (southeast side of cottage). A porch had been added to the front elevation (southeast) by the early 20th Century. A Level 2 Standing Building Survey was carried out in August 2018 by MAS prior to proposed demolition. It was recorded as being constructed from rubble with some render remaining. A layer of turves was recorded under the current iron roof, possibly added as insulation or remaining from an earlier thatched roof. Box beds were also recorded.
