Full Description

Farmstead and former corn mill, with the mill now converted to residential use. The B-listed mill is dated 'A.S. 1792' (lintel above door in north west gable). It is shown on the 1st edition OS map as an L-plan mill building with four buildings to the south, including an L-plan steading. A mill lade runs from the south and re-joins the river to the north-east. On the 2nd edition OS map the steading has been extended to U-plan. Current OS maps show the court of the steading has been filled, one of the buildings to the south has been removed, another is now depicted as roofless and the mill lade has been infilled. The former mill building was converted to a dwelling in 1994. The main part of the mill is rectangular in plan, three storeys and rubble built of rough granite with ball finials at the gables. A kiln is attached on one flank and small single-storey piend roofed outshot on other. The mill has an iron overshot wheel.
