Full Description
Remains of quarrying and shooting butts. The OS Name book describes these as pit dwellings, 'eight ancient abodes .. evidently a village', These were circular, 1.06m in diameter, and 0.61m deep below ground level. OS site visit 1967 concluded that of the eight pits two were the result off minor quarrying and the remainder disused shooting butts.
