Full Description
Milestone still in use which is shown on the OS maps from the 1st and 2nd edition maps onwards. It is a granite pillar, 0.3m in diameter and 0.37m high. The southeast side of the rounded top is bevelled and incised with the number '40, indicating 40 miles from Aberdeen. There is also an OS bench mark, comprising a brass nail, on the top of the stone and an incised arrow on the rear.
