Full Description
It was sculpted by Robert Williamson, of R. Morren Ltd, Aberdeen. It is a tall fluted column with an unusual finial of four curved terminals with a series of small discs decorating them. The column stands on top of a slightly tapering rectangular plinth of two steps, which in turn sits on a two-stepped base. The stepped base bears a relief of rifle and sword and ‘for God and righteousness’. A second small memorial to World War II is set into the east wall of the church (MAB12721). Full transcription of the memorials are held in the AAS Digital Archive.
