Full Description

Pictish symbol stones Class I. One stone bears beast and the arch or horse-shoe symbol. This stone was built into the churchyard wall but was removed to inside the church (NJ52NW0022) and a replica placed in the wall The original is now mounted on the wall of the church porch. A stone fragment, described in 1903 as a recent discovery, has since been lost: it bore a double-disc and Z-rod. Another stone found in the churchyard wall now stands beside the entrance steps of Knockespock House where it was taken in 1890 (NJ 5442 2408). It is a blue grey granite block it is incised with a cauldron symbol, double-disc and Z-rod and possible mirror symbol.
