Full Description
Remains of Kennethmont old parish church and graveyard. The old church was a long narrow building and at the East end of the ruins is the burial enclosure of the Gordons which contains a 17th century coffin-slab. Plain square harled gothic Leith-Hay burial vault. The major part of the site is now occupied by 19th century gravestones and burial enclosures, although includes gravestones from the 17th century onwards. Little can be seen of the foundations apart from a slight ground swelling. A well also existed here though there is now no trace. The graveyard includes a 2.21 m (7 foot) tall granite memorial to the Andersons of Noth. It also contains three Commonwealth war graves and the Kennethmont War Memorial (NJ52NW0060).
