Full Description
The war memorial at Leochel-Cushnie stands at roadside, at the entrance to driveway to the church (NJ51SW0082). It commemorates the dead of both World War I and II. It is a simple cross surmounting a rectangular base which in turn stands on an angled base of random rubble. It was unveiled 8 May 1921. Full transcription of memorial held in AAS Digital Archive. The name of William James Birse (Private, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders who died on 31 July 1917 at the 3rd Battle of Ypres) was added to the memorial in 2010.
