Full Description

Farmstead, still in use, depicted on historic OS maps. The 1st edition shows a group of four buildings arranged around a court with an L-plan building and long range (partially disused) to the north, and two buildings, one with attached garden, to the south. By the time of the 2nd edition the northernmost building had been removed, as had the north end of the range on the west side of the court. A new building has been added to the south. A standing building survey of the steading buildings was carried out by MAS in January 2014. A possible manor site, the farmstead is shown on Gourdon's map of 1630-1655 and Roy's Military map of 1747/55. The steading, which probably dates from circa 1800-1850, has been substantially altered and rebuilt over the past 50 years leaving little of the original building intact.
