Full Description

House and remains of a 17th to 19th century designed landscape. The C-listed house was built in 1849, and comprises a two-storey with attic, three window granite ashlar house, with a later square four-storey crenellated tower added on the northwest. The house has a Roman-doric porch with red granite shafts. Possibly designed by JF Beattie. The 2nd edition OS map shows the late 19th century addition of a walled garden with a central sundial to the east of the house. Current OS maps show this has been removed, although a small wooded area remains within the area covered by the walled garden. There is a farmstead directly to the south of the house (NJ51SE0075).

Period Notes
Listed 11/09/1984. Designed landscape is 17th - 19th century and the house was built in 1849.
