Full Description
Small Baronial mansion house, built in 1872 by James Matthews, incorporating parts of an older house. It is on an L-plan with a circular balustraded entrance tower, harled with granite dressings. The water tanks date to circa 1871. There are some late-18th Century marble fireplaces and chimney pieces. A tympanum, dated 1688, is built into the wall of the stable block, however this stone is probably re-used from elsewhere. The east wing burned down in the 1940s.
