Full Description

Small Baronial mansion house (1872 by James Matthews) with parts of an older house are incorporated into the new house. It is on an L-plan with circular balustraded entrance tower, harled with granite dressings. There are some late 18th century chimney pieces. A 17th century (1688) tympanum is built into a wall of the stable block.

Period Notes
Present house built 1872; date of 1688 on stableblock but this is probably re-used from elsewhere; marble fireplaces 18thC; water tanks c.1871; east wing burnt down in 1940s.
