Full Description
Small farmstead still in use. On the 1st edition OS map it is shown as two small rectangular buildings and a partially wooded enclosure. By the 2nd edition map the enclosure is not marked and a U-plan building, open to the southeast, has been built to the north of the existing buildings. The 2005 map shows that some of the buildings have been modernised, in particular the U-plan building has been extended to form a large rectangular building, and the western of the smaller buildings has been replaced by another building on a different alignment. A Level 1 Standing building survey was carried out by AOC Archaeology in August 2021 ahead of proposed development. It recorded the farmhouse was constructed prior to 1867, with the outbuilding between 1957 and 1965 as a later extension to the original outbuilding that was contemporary with the house, but which has since been removed. The house is 2-storey, stone cross gabled, with a square plan wing on the northeast elevation and later extension to the northeast. The current building footprint was depicted after 1965.
