Full Description
Remains of a buildings which are depicted on historic OS maps. The 1st edition shows a part of parallel long rectangular buildings, with a U-plan complex of buildings to the southeast. Of the latter only two rectangular buildings are shown on the 2nd edition map. Remains were recorded during SCAPE Community Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (CCZAS) in 2022. they comprised a substantial retaining wall forming the seaward side of a large building platform, and remains of a west gable end set into the hillside. The buildings were probably storehouses, warehouses or workshops related to fishing: they predate the harbour but are located adjacent to a sheltered landing beach.
