Full Description
Cave, which lies at the foot of an isolated cliff face. The cave mouth is about 1.82m wide and circa 1.1 m high, sloping down from northwest to southeast, to the surface of the ground. The interior extends back 7.3 m and in places is more than 1.8 m high. Excavations carried out in 1901-02 produced eyeless bone needles and a jet armlet, suggested to indicate a probable prehistoric occupation. The cave also appears to have been used as a wartime shelter. Site visit in June 2022 during Moray Community Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (CCZAS) recorded that the cave appears to have been filled in.
