Full Description

Single-arch, hump-backed bridge, built in 1609 and repaired in 1724 and 1822. It crosses the River Isla, linking the higher North bank with the lower South bank. It has a segmental arch and is rubble-built, and is linking the higher North bank with lower South bank. It is rubble-built, with a tooled rubble arch-ring and low parapet that is widely splayed at the South approach, with later steps. There is a worn coat of arms at the East of Thomas Moray and Janet Lindsay, his wife, who had the bridge built, and a date stone at the West. The approximate span of the bridge is 27 feet (8.2 metres). It is probably the oldest extant bridge in Moray.
