Full Description
Ruins of Davidston corn mill. The mill and the adjacent buildings show evidence of several periods of construction, and the layout was extensively altered between 1874 and 1902. The mill building is of two parts, the earlier housing the mill itself at the southwest end and the later rectangular kiln at the northeast end. The kiln forms a substantial block of masonry set symmetrically within the end of the building. Around the kiln there is a passage roofed with large slabs which bond the kiln into the outside walls. To the southwest is a pond, now drained, which was fed by lades from both the Burn of Davidson and Burn of Shenwall.
