Full Description

Former farmstead, now in use as a store, depicted on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps. It is shown on the 1st edition OS map as a U-plan steading with a horsemill attached to the south. To the south of the steading is an L-plan and a square building with an adjacent square enclosure, and to the north-east is a well. On the 2nd edition OS map a rectangular building has been added to the south-east of the steading, and the two buildings to the south have been altered or replaced with a single rectangular building. Current maps show there are extensive alterations and additions to the steading, and the other buildings and the well have been removed. A walkover survey was conducted in 2008 and a desk-based assessment in 2014, both by AOC Archaeology prior to the erection of a wind farm (NJ44SE0088).
