Full Description

Remains of a mill, depicted on the 1st edition OS map as a rectangular building with a sluice and dam to the North. Only the building survives. Associated with Edintore House (NJ44NW0063). A Level 1 Standing Building Survey was carried out by MAS in 2018 prior to proposed demolition. The building was recorded as being constructed from rubble with various areas of the walls raised or repaired with concrete blocks. A single granite slab was recorded as the sill of a now blocked opening for the horizontal axle of the water wheel. The wheel pit itself was almost fully in-filled with rubble. The mill dam was no longer visible.
