Full Description
Chapel Cairn comprising an amorphous pile of rubble stones in a forest clearing on a slope. It is also depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. The mound is flat-topped and probably a dump from surface quarrying or stone clearance. It is certainly not a burial cairn. OS noted that in 1967 the name and chapel tradition were still known locally but surface indications seem to refute tradition.
