Full Description

A small farmstead, consisting of three buildings and two small enclosures, is depicted at this position on the 1st edition OS map (surveyed 1871) and 2nd edition (revised 1900). Only one building is now shown on the present map. Building survey of the remaining building, a mid-19th century two-storey cottage, was carried out by FCS in 2013 prior to demolition. The building measures externally 13.9m from northeast to southwest by 5.4m transversely. It is constructed of faced rubble and mortar and bears a corrugated iron roof with concrete skews. There is no access to the interior. The front door is on the southeast side and is flanked by two windows. There are three small windows on the rear (northwest) side and two windows in the southwest gable.
