Full Description

Remains of a farmstead depicted on historic OS maps. The 1st and 2nd edition maps show a U-plan steading with another range on the southwest side of the court, and a T-plan house to the southeast. A lade runs to the southeast side of the steading from a mill pond to the northeast and a well is shown to the northeast of the house. The remains were recorded during walkover survey by Rathmell Archaeology in August 2024 ahead of proposed woodland creation (NJ42SE0086). The steading and range are roofless, but no trace of the house or well was found. The pond remains water filled.
