Full Description
Remains of a farmstead which is depicted on historic OS maps. The 1st edition map shows a long L-plan range with attached horse-mill, house with attached garden and another building to the south. Part of the range appears unroofed on the 2nd edition map and the horse-mill is no longer shown. The remains were recorded during walkover survey by Rathmell Archaeology in August 2024 ahead of proposed woodland creation (NJ42SE0086). The single remaining enclosure or structure measures circa 23 m long and 18 m wide, surviving as a tumbled rough stone wall standing to a maximum height of circa 0.5 m. It is 1 m wide with tumble, and largely overgrown.
