Full Description

Farmstead, still in use, depicted on historic OS maps. The 1st edition shows four buildings, including a range with attached horsemill, arranged around a court with a small building and garden enclosure to the north. By the time of the 2nd edition map the ranges on the south and west sides of the court appear to have been replaced by a U-plan steading. Another small building had been added to the east. Site visit during walkover survey by Rathmell Archaeology in August 2024 ahead of proposed woodland creation (NJ42SE0086). The farmhouse is 2-storey. The enclosure survives in sections, as a heavily denuded rough stone wall up to 0.5 m high, and 0.8 m wide.
