Description

Following topsoil stripping which revealed features of probable archaeological origin, full survey and a small evaluative excavation were undertaken, following which the site was reinstated to preserve remaining features. Three areas were excavated, recording two four-post timber structures in association with other features and an area of burning, of Late Neolithic date. Later prehistoric features include a concentration of Middle Bronze Age graves, and a number of Iron Age pits. Soil samples and samples taken for radiocarbon dating. Director: M K GREIG Auspices: GRC Fund: GRC
