Description
A single trench was opened across the line of a section of the upstanding bank and ditch close to the north western corner of the park on Knock of Formal. Possible evidence for a former palisade line was located on top of the bank; the ditch was found to be very shallow. A peat rich old ground surface was located under the bank and samples were taken for palaeoenvironmental analysis and radiocarbon dating; no finds were located.
