Description
Trench dug a the northern end of a room visible on the eastern side of the entrance into the castle. The part of this room closest to the entrance sems to have been open and accessible until quite, but the remainder of the room that was buried under demolition soil and rubble has produced material that would appear to be of medieval date. A sample of animal bone from Context 3009 recovered for C14 dating. Director: D Hall
